Thoughts on new content | STUDENT LIFE AWAITS

As you may (or may not) know, I am headed to university in September to study Art & Design.
In my mind it feels like the perfect thing to use this blog as a platform to share my preparation for university so i'm going to be sharing things I purchase, as well as recipes and just general thoughts about how my life is going- I hope that perhaps in the future some people will read this and benfit from what I have to say, however for now i'm happy just chatting to myself and anybody who drops in.

5 Desk Essentials

As an artist and creator i spend quite alot of time at my desk, ironically as I am now - writing this blog post. I feel it is very important that I can have certain things of my desk and still have room to create my latest thoughts. This blog post explains the top 5 things I feel are important and essential in my desk space.

The first thing I need is for my desk to be versatile, because I use my desk not only as what you could call studio space, but also for general internet consumption I need something that can give me plentiful space and still look quite nice. My desk is just an Ikea table which seemed the perfect size and price for what I needed.

Another thing I would say EVERY desk needs, is a reliable light source. My desk is placed under a skylight so I have lots of natural light during the day, but I also have a desk lamp which is easy to move the light isn't too harsh.

The third thing I would say is essential to your desk space is containers. Little jars as pen pots, or even an old tin bucket, anything that will help you store everything at arms reach is perfect!

My desk space is where I create alot of my work, and therefore i want it to show character, that's my reasoning for having a half painted brick on my desk, character, that is all.

The final thing my desk needs is visual inspirations such as printed quotes, photographs and artworks. It encourages me to do something other than my work, so I like it!
