Smartphone Editing with VSCOcam

There are many different photo editing tools out there as an alternative to those hideous filters that Instagram provides. However my personal favourite is an app called 'VSCOcam', a fantastic professional app that gives you free range on how you can edit your photos. Today I will show you how I would normally use this app to edit photos i'm aiming to post on Instagram, all screenshots are taken from the iPhone 5.

One thing that I originally really loved about VSCOcam was the presets you could select to use just as easily as Instagram, and not only that but you can select the intensity too! (Yes guys I know you can do this on Instagram now also, but this app did it FIRST!)

Another thing I love about this app is it's usability, even if you have only a basic knowledge on photo editing, there's still something for you; and the sky is still very much the limit! Take the easy slider system for example when adjusting the exposure and fade on an image.

Another thing that really grabs me with this app is how it works very much around you, and how you like to work; similarly to any professional desktop programme.

In the images below as an example you can see how you can completely change your view of the app, from thumbnails to larger scale photos, as well as being able to flag photos and use filters so you only see the photos you haven't yet edited, fantastic!

There is also options for those who perhaps don't use Instagram to share their photos, infact VSCOcam has it's very own photo sharing platform, the VSCO grid. Where you can share single photos or create journals and have a collection of photos from the same events.

Finally the best thing about VSCOcam is that it is FREE, and guess what? NO ADS! It's completely AD free which is absolutely amazing, and although i say it's free, it will be no time before you decide to buy a few extra presets here and there, which are under £1 and last FOREVER, hoorah!

All done!
